Would you like to work with us as an interpreter?

Lingland Interpreters and Translators is an established language services provider in the South East since 1996, assisting many of our major public services and institutions. We are permanently looking out for interpreters, either officially qualified and experienced or ready to undergo induction and training.

What we do

Lingland Interpreters and Translators ltd is a major language service provider in the South East of the UK established in 1996. We work with dozens of public services including NHS Hospital departments, Social Services, mental health teams, refugee programs, emergency services, courts, solicitors and city councils.

Our interpreters work on a freelance basis. We run a well established client network, manage the assignments and provide all the expenses, fees, training, IDs and paperwork.

You get prompt and full payment hassle free straight to your account on a weekly basis once you sent us your timesheet and invoice. You have nothing else to worry about, allowing you to fill in your time with more jobs.

We deliver our services in various ways: at times we send an interpreter for a face-to-face session, others we deliver via teams, zoom or telephone. Not all our interpreters do all three, we customize to the client and to the interpreter’s availability.

We also deliver written translations, mainly legal, social and medical documents. Some of our colleagues work both on interpreting and translations, while others specialize in document translation

What we need

We need both interpreters and translators to join our 300+ strong network of collaborators.

Our most demanded languages at the moment are

  • Arabic
  • Kurdish
  • Nepali

Lingland Rates vs Custom Rates

Lingland offers its clients a standard rate. This is because the client needs consistency to budget their expenses, and it makes booking without quotes and delays much faster and easier. It would be impossible to work if every language, session and interpreter had a different price.

If you adhere to our standard rates we guarantee you will be included in the priority list of interpreters to be offered jobs, meaning you will get first pick and a bigger workload. We will pay you for a minimum of one hour whatever the length of the session, it will be a fair fee, and -unlike many companies- we will advance your payment so you dont have to wait for the client to complete the invoicing to get paid.

If you dont adhere to our clients standard rates, we will still work with you but you will be at the bottom of our list as a last resort. You will only get the jobs that no one else can cover as we will need to ask every time if the client accepts your extra fees.

We sincerely recommend you that unless you speak a very rare language that is hardly booked, you adhere to our standard rates as the workload and prompt payment will compensate by far any extra fee for occasional work.

What now?

If you sent us an application, our admin team will soon get in touch with you.

We will send you a full application form, where you will need to complete your professional information and attach a copy of your DBS and Certifications. Once we receive and check this, we will schedule an interview and induct you in the company.
